Republicans: Obama ♥s Muslims

by Karen on August 31, 2010

Obama face palm photoNo matter what he does, the guy just can’t win:

… a new poll finds that Republicans are now taking that rumor one step further. A Newsweek survey released Monday found that a majority of Republicans believe that Obama “sympathizes with the goals of Islamic fundamentalists who want to impose Islamic law around the world.”

According to the poll, 14 percent of Republicans said that from what they knew of Obama, they thought such allegations were “definitely true”; 38 percent thought the allegations were “probably true.”

Meanwhile, 33 percent of Republicans thought they were “probably not true” and 7 percent thought they were “definitely not true.” Asked whether Obama favors the interests of Muslim Americans over other groups of Americans, 59 percent Republicans said yes, whereas 34 percent said he has “generally been evenhanded.”

I’m pretty sure the alleged favouritism has something to do with supporting the first amendment rights of Muslims. How about you?

They’re already mad at him for trying to stand up to the personification of the angry white man, Rush Limbaugh.  I highly doubt they’re going to like what he said in an interview with GQ (via Think Progress) about abortion:

GQ: Are you saying you think women have the right to choose abortion?

STEELE: Yeah. I mean, again, I think that’s an individual choice. […]

He goes on to state that Roe vs. Wade should be overturned on a technicality & that uterus control should be be localized which is par for the course.

However, the Rethugs have firmly planted themselves besides the professional Christian organizations that believe every sperm is sacred. They are so not going to like this.

Here’s your WTF – Why hasn’t this man been arrested yet?!?! for the day courtesy of Raw Story:

Investigative reporter Seymour Hersh dropped a bombshell on Tuesday when he told an audience at the University of Minnesota that the military was running an "executive assassination ring" throughout the Bush years which reported directly to former Vice President Dick Cheney.

Hersch was participating in a discussion about the illegal things our government has done over the years and was asked if such things were continuing to happen. The above was his response.

Glenn Beck hates me & I don’t care!

March 10, 2009

In the last week or so I’ve found out that as an atheist and an American I’m supposed to be mad at Glenn Beck for not inviting me to watch his show this Friday. Why did Glenn Beck not invite little ole me to tune in? Because I do not believe in the existence of [...]

An epic war is brewing in Texas. Kay Bailey Hutchison is considering leaving the Senate and fighting Perry in the primary and from what’s already going on, it’s going to be a primary that’s spoken about for years. Republican Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison hasn’t formally announced she’s running for governor, but Texas Republicans are nevertheless [...]

George Bush is set to give his speech since leaving office and it’s pretty much par for the course with him.  The media is banned and he’s sticking to safe territory. What is amusing is that he will not be giving this speech in America.  His first post-presidential speech is going to take place in [...]

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the most biased of them all?

January 29, 2009

If you’re one to pay attention to the major news networks, you may have noticed they’ve been covering Obama’s stimulus plan, which the Republicans really, really despise. Guess which one has been extremely biased towards the Republicans point of view? If you’re thinking Fox News, you’d be wrong.  CNN takes the title for the most [...]

The New Prez Has a Backbone

January 24, 2009

One of the things that disturbed me about Obama when he was running for president was that he seemed to go out of his way to dismiss the idea that there were real issues between liberals (aka: blue) and conservatives (aka: red). Though he talked a great game, I was somewhat convinced that the first [...]
