What’s new in racism

The scandal involving District Attorney Chuck Rosenthal here in Houston has brought to light a new way to be a racist without actually saying anything “racist”.  The word is “Canadian” as in “a couple of Canadians on the jury felt sorry for the defendent and convicted him of a lesser charge”.  The Canadians in question?  Those would be black Americans serving on a jury here in Harris county.

It was a routine e-mail from the boss sent to congratulate a junior prosecutor in Houston, Tex., who had won manslaughter convictions against an intoxicated driver.

“He convicted Mr. Sosa of a double intoxication manslaughter, got a weak jury to give him 12 years in each, and then convinced Judge Wallace to stack the sentences,” Harris County assistant district attorney Mike Trent wrote in an office-wide memo. Then came the odd part: “He overcame a subversively good defence by Matt Hennessey that had some Canadians on the jury feeling sorry for the defendant and forced them to do the right thing.”

The e-mail was sent in 2003 but came to light only this month as part of an unrelated controversy with his office, forcing Mr. Trent to defend himself against accusations of bigotry — not because he offended the people of Canada, but because “Canadian” has apparently become a code word for blacks among American racists.

I haven’t heard it myself.  The racists I run across around here are pretty open about it.  I guess it’s racism for the upper class.

Have Christian Fascists never heard of Google?

Another day and another Christian is alleging that he’s the victim of discrimination. Today it’s Professor Walter Kehowski of Glendale Community College in Arizona. The professor is alleging that he’s “facing termination simply for emailing the Thanksgiving address of our first president”.

The fact of the matter is the simple email contained a link to Pat Buchanan’s website and this ain’t the first time the good professor has used his college’s email system to send links to racist sites.

It started in 2003 (some reports say 2004 though) with Kehowski sending the faculty a mass email which included links to sites declaring that Hispanics were racial supremacists who were planning an invasion as well as links to other articles where women of all colours, black men and Muslims were also attacked for various offenses against white male American Christians.

The links were allegedly taken from his school sponsored pages. The links have since disappeared, but thanks to the Way Back Machine, we can get a glimpse of what the professor was sending and the glimpse ain’t pretty. As of late 2003 the professor had a section up labeled “the intelligence pages” that is almost unbelievable in the amount of gender, racial and religious hatred it promotes.

The man is a stone cold white Christian male supremacist, not the innocent victim that he’s being made out to be.

Jews in Christian Nations

Much ado has been made over Dennis Prager’s prediction of sorts that allowing a Muslim politician to swear on the Koran is going to bring civilization down about our collective heads. In a defense of Prager, Kathleen Parker writes:

Hoisting the red flag, as Prager has done, isn’t an act of bigotry — or even schmuckery. It is the understandable reflex of a man, who, as Prager himself puts it, knows that a Bible-swearing nation has been, and will be, a better place for Jews to live than one that swears on the Quran.

I’m often mystified by Ms. Parker, but this just really takes the cake. Ms. Parker is either genuinely ignorant of the history of Christian persecution of Jews or believes the rest of us rarely read anything deeper than the comics. A simple overview of the persecution of Jews by Christians via their states clearly shows why Jews not only want the state of Israel, but need it.

Christians went on the warpath from the beginning. The Christian texts, written before the rise of Christianity in Rome, bluntly states the following about Jews:

“You are from your father the devil, and you choose to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” – John 8:44
