UK Bishop: God’s going to drown you

by Karen on July 3, 2007

Bishops in the Church of England recently admitted that God has attacked England.

One diocesan bishop has even claimed that laws that have undermined marriage, including the introduction of pro-gay legislation, have provoked God to act by sending the storms that have left thousands of people homeless.

While those who have been affected by the storms are innocent victims, the bishops argue controversially that the flooding is a result of Western civilisation’s decision to ignore biblical teaching.

Translation: God attacked members of the majority heterosexual community in order to provoke a fear-based revocation of all rights and privileges currently afforded to the minority gay community of England. God will continue such attacks until survivors get it through their heads that “If God doesn’t like it and the Henchmen of God agree, it must die”.

The boy king has nominated Dr. James Holsinger for the post of Surgeon General. As you may know, the Surgeon General’s primary role is to educate the public on health issues using the best scientific information available. And what qualifications does the good doctor have that says he’s the best candidate for the job?

Photo of James HolsingerHe and his wife are the founders of an anti-gay group that declares being homosexual a “lifestyle choice” that one can walk away from with the help of their “re-education” program. Such conversion type programs have been soundly repudiated by major medical associations including the American Psychological Association for years.

The good doctor has also written a paper where he explicitly attacks homosexual men using the lame “parts fitting together” argument as evidence that sex between men is bad, bad, bad. The paper also explains how this argument is justification for not believing that gay people should be entitled to the same rights and privileges as enjoyed by heterosexuals.

As noted in the Human Rights Campaign’s condemnation of Holsinger’s nomination, “Dr. Holsinger has a record that is unworthy of America’s doctor. His writings suggest a scientific view rooted in anti-gay beliefs that are incompatible with the job of serving the medical health of all Americans. It is essential that America’s top doctor value sound science over anti-gay ideology.”

I couldn’t have said it better myself. Holsinger is a bigot who’s clearly demonstrated that he will twist the crap out of science to get it to align with his unfounded beliefs. He needs to go.

Reproduce or Get a Divorce: Your Choice

February 6, 2007

A group of pro-gay marriage equality activists are pushing an intiative that is sure to make the heads of many conservatives pop. The intiative would restrict marriage in Washington to heterosexual couples willing and able to reproduce. Marriages that produce no children within three years would be dissolved by the state. The intiative is based [...]

Evangelicals Purging the Ranks of Gay People

December 19, 2006

It’s been two months since the fall of Ted Haggard and the evangelicals having been busy. In the last two weeks they’ve fired Paul Barnes for being homosexual and fired Christopher Beard, an assistant pastor at Haggard’s former church, for “sexual misconduct”. And it doesn’t end there. In fact, it seems that we’re looking at [...]
