I saw this video a few days ago and I thought I’d share. It’s Hillary Clinton responding to the faux-concern of some white dude named Christopher Smith on providing abortion services to women of colour in other countries:

The wait is over. President elect Obama has finally announced that Hillary Clinton will serve as his secretary of state after weeks of speculation.
From the transcript at Huffington Post:
I have known Hillary Clinton as a friend, a colleague, a source of counsel, and as a campaign opponent. She possesses an extraordinary intelligence and toughness, and a remarkable work ethic. I am proud that she will be our next Secretary of State. She is an American of tremendous stature who will have my complete confidence; who knows many of the world’s leaders; who will command respect in every capitol; and who will clearly have the ability to advance our interests around the world.
Hillary’s appointment is a sign to friend and foe of the seriousness of my commitment to renew American diplomacy and restore our alliances. There is much to do – from preventing the spread of nuclear weapons to Iran and North Korea, to seeking a lasting peace between Israel and the Palestinians, to strengthening international institutions. I have no doubt that Hillary Clinton is the right person to lead our State Department, and to work with me in tackling this ambitious foreign policy agenda.
I’m very happy about this because as I’ve said before I really like Hillary and I hope this finally gets the people who’ve promoted the idea that Obama and Hillary actively dislike each other to shut the fuck up.

Some Republican strategist has decided to share with us seven reasons McCain and Palin will be coming out the winners come November 4th.
Reason number four is none other than women ‘who feel Senator Clinton was treated unfairly’ by the party, the media and Obama. We’re allegedly going to remember this and vote against Obama.
Well, I, for one, will remember one thing in particular. A Republican strategist including women angered by sexism as a reason his party is going to win in an article where he called the media, for all intents and purposes, a bunch of girls:
…the national media has become a feminized, electronic vote-for-Obama nagging machine.
I’m also going to remember that Sarah Palin is not on the ticket because she was the best the Republicans could find amongst their party, which would at least be respectable, but is on the ticket as nothing more than a cold, political calculation that John McCain has found very pleasing.
I’m also never going to forget that the original source for all the hatred of Hillary Clinton is, in fact, the Republican Party which started in on her nearly two decades ago. There was not one thing said about Hillary Clinton over the last year that did not breathe it’s first breath in Republican circles.
