Hillary Clinton

Clinton vs. Smith on Family Planning

by Karen on April 27, 2009

I saw this video a few days ago and I thought I’d share. It’s Hillary Clinton responding to the faux-concern of some white dude named Christopher Smith on providing abortion services to women of colour in other countries:

Madame Secretary of State Hillary Clinton

by Karen on December 1, 2008

The wait is over. President elect Obama has finally announced that Hillary Clinton will serve as his secretary of state after weeks of speculation.

From the transcript at Huffington Post:

I have known Hillary Clinton as a friend, a colleague, a source of counsel, and as a campaign opponent. She possesses an extraordinary intelligence and toughness, and a remarkable work ethic. I am proud that she will be our next Secretary of State. She is an American of tremendous stature who will have my complete confidence; who knows many of the world’s leaders; who will command respect in every capitol; and who will clearly have the ability to advance our interests around the world.

Hillary’s appointment is a sign to friend and foe of the seriousness of my commitment to renew American diplomacy and restore our alliances. There is much to do – from preventing the spread of nuclear weapons to Iran and North Korea, to seeking a lasting peace between Israel and the Palestinians, to strengthening international institutions. I have no doubt that Hillary Clinton is the right person to lead our State Department, and to work with me in tackling this ambitious foreign policy agenda.

I’m very happy about this because as I’ve said before I really like Hillary and I hope this finally gets the people who’ve promoted the idea that Obama and Hillary actively dislike each other to shut the fuck up.

What this woman is going to remember

by Karen on October 28, 2008

piss_on_mccain Some Republican strategist has decided to share with us seven reasons McCain and Palin will be coming out the winners come November 4th.

Reason number four is none other than women ‘who feel Senator Clinton was treated unfairly’ by the party, the media and Obama. We’re allegedly going to remember this and vote against Obama.

Well, I, for one, will remember one thing in particular.  A Republican strategist including women angered by sexism as a reason his party is going to win in an article where he called the media, for all intents and purposes, a bunch of girls:

…the national media has become a feminized, electronic vote-for-Obama nagging machine.

I’m also going to remember that Sarah Palin is not on the ticket because she was the best the Republicans could find amongst their party, which would at least be respectable, but is on the ticket as nothing more than a cold, political calculation that John McCain has found very pleasing.

I’m also never going to forget that the original source for all the hatred of Hillary Clinton is, in fact, the Republican Party which started in on her nearly two decades ago.  There was not one thing said about Hillary Clinton over the last year that did not breathe it’s first breath in Republican circles.

Such a class act

October 8, 2008

I <3 Hillary Clinton.  Seriously and completely.  It has nothing to do with politics as she’s rather right of me.  However, she’s a class act as shown by this video: I dread November 5, 2008.  I so do not want to wake up (I’m getting up there and plan to get wasted Nov. 4th which [...]

Obama’s whose candidate?

September 9, 2008

Am I the only one who thinks Hillary’s face has had at least a decade photoshopped off her face? It just doesn’t look right and I swear they’ve made her whiter too.  Then again, I could just need more coffee this morning, but still…

ABC hopes you’re dumber than the average rock

August 29, 2008

What else is there to say about this article besides that? Charles Dolan, head of Cablevision and one of the people named in the article, donated $25K to the RNC in May of 2000 and 2002.  In June 2004 he gave $25K to the RNC.  In 2007 & 2008 he gave thousands to Guiliani, McCain [...]

There are days

June 8, 2008

when I wish I could shoot lightening bolts at people. Today is one of them. Reason? Well, I just read an opinion piece that takes the gold, silver and bronze metal when it comes to loathing Hillary Clinton. She would never be content to be vice president. She’d be plotting against him from day one. [...]

The Rules in Florida & Michigan

May 22, 2008

One of the things that’s baffled me this election season is how so many don’t seem to grasp the fact that Hillary Clinton did not break the rules by not removing her name from the ballots in Michigan and Florida. Thankfully, Zuzu of Shakesville has put up a post explaining this and a few other [...]

Keith Olbermann – worst person in the world

April 24, 2008

Last night Keith Olbermann and Howard Fineman decided to get together for a chit chat about Hillary Clinton. As you may know she hasn’t dropped out of the race and certain people are none to happy about it. In fact the recent tone of things can be best summed up as “how do we get [...]

We the people are pissed off

April 17, 2008

Apparently there was a “debate” last night on ABC involving Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. I wasn’t aware of it myself and had I been I would’ve probably still went out and had a few beers. Judging from the response this morning, I missed what was the most asinine thing the mass media has done [...]
