Bush gives up golf for troops

It is said that whoever renders service to many puts himself in line for greatness – great wealth, great return, great satisfaction, great reputation, and great joy. Our esteemed president is not on the path to greatness however.

In fact, he’s well on his way to being considered one of the most self-centred, arrogant and shallow little fuckwits ever as evidenced in a recent interview wherein he tells the interviewer that he has given up golf in order to show his “solidarity” with the troops.

According to Bush, he made this decision in August of 2003 when he was interrupted while playing golf with the news of the Canal Hotel Bombing in which Brazilian diplomat Sergio Vieira de Mello died along with 21 people from his staff.

Of course, he didn’t actually give up golf until at least two months later as CBS apparently has documented proof that his last game was in October.

Left unmentioned is that 2003 is the year in which a lot of people noticed that Bush appeared to be spending more time vacationing than his predecessor Bill Clinton had. In fact, an article in the Washington Post on August 3, 2003, a little more than two weeks before the Canal Hotel bombing, reported that Bush had spent over five months at or en route to either Camp David or his ranch in Crawford.

King George I President Bush will be giving his (hopefully last) SOTU address. His plan is to:

“… report that over the last seven years, we’ve made great progress on important issues at home and abroad. I will also report that we have unfinished business before us, and we must work together,”

I suppose if we count screwing over everyone except the top 1% of Americans as progress – the man deserves a gold star, doesn’t he?

Today’s Useless Study: Bush lied about Iraq

by Karen on January 22, 2008

Two non-profit journalist organizations have concluded that Bush lied and that his lies “were part of an orchestrated campaign that effectively galvanized public opinion and, in the process, led the nation to war under decidedly false pretenses.”

Bush only stated that Iraq had “weapons of mass destruction”, was trying to obtain weapon’s grade plutonium from somewhere in Africa and that Saddam Hussein had connections to al-Quida.

Those were lies?! Really?!? Say it ain’t so!!!!!

Seriously, if anyone still needs to be told that Bush and company lied their way into being allowed to invade a sovereign country that was of no threat to the United States…

I’m just going to have to shoot myself or the cat.
