E-Harmony: Atheists are Cheaters

by Karen on March 17, 2009

According to an E-Harmony advice piece, these are the people most likely to cheat on their significant others:

Those who crave excitement

Those who are not religious

Those who have a history of divorce, sexual abuse or such psychological problems as depression or bipolar disorder.

I bore pretty easily and happen to be an atheist on my second marriage with a history of abuse dating back to early childhood.  Yet, I’ve somehow managed to never cheat on any of my partners over the years.

I have, however, about laughed myself silly at a man who swore his pastor had given him permission to cheat on his wife after I dropped his ass upon discovering he was married.

Atheists are what??

by Karen on February 11, 2009

When it comes to liars for Jesus, there is none greater than Ray Comfort.  Take a look at his answer to the FFRF’s billboards, a billboard promoting his new non-interactive anti-atheist site:

Billboard 1

Trina Hooks, the Atheist Examiner, has already slapped that site around here, here and here,  including Comfort’s new(ish) lie about what atheists are (emphasis mine):

Let’s start with the obvious… An atheist is someone who does not believe the existence of deities.

The atheists I know aren’t addle-minded enough to suppose that nothing “made” something. But for Comfort, the use of this type of language sets the stage for his creation (or intelligent design) agenda. It is irrelevant to him [Ray Comfort] whether what he is saying is true. But what better way to introduce his house builder analogy, which, if he told the truth about what atheists think, would prove to be a non sequitur.

Truer words have never been spoken. Ray Comfort really does not care if what he says is true.  As long as it fits his agenda he’ll say it.

ex_atheist

What is it with Christians running around saying they used to be atheists because they ran around being, at the very least, stupid assholes for a while?

Take the makers of this silly assed shirt shown to the left. It’s being marketed towards Christians who “would not have said God did not exist”.

Many of us would not have said that God did not exist, but we lived as though God did not exist. We lived as though there would be no
consequences for our sins. We did whatever pleased us.  Thank God though, today we are officially ex-athiests.

In other words, they weren’t atheists.  They were theists, Christians specifically, who were having themselves a tantrum and refusing to obey their main parent God.

There’s also the whole part about atheists being people who live “as though there [will] be no consequences” and who do “whatever please[s] us”.

I don’t even know what to say to that kind of hate and bigotry anymore.  Besides “fuck you you damned twit” that is.  How about you?

Good parents give children faith systems?

December 11, 2008

So, there I was stumbling along  on an unrelated subject when this parenting article popped up on the screen about the steps we parents can take in order to, at the very least, lower the odds of our children growing up to be stars on Cops by pointing out the so-called mistakes we are making. [...]

We Are Atheist. Resistance will be Ignored.

November 9, 2008

Or something like that. Claiming to be about the “anti-religion agenda” on the social sites Digg, Reddit and YouTube, all this article really does is provide evidence that atheists use social sites and that Digg seems to be dominated by atheists. But, that’s the kind assessment.  The unkind assessment is that it’s yet more “evidence” [...]

What began as a press release has become a major point in Elizabeth Dole’s campaign for reelection in North Carolina.  Dole has now sent a flyer to voters in North Carolina attacking  Kay Hagan’s character and values for daring to associate with atheists. No need to pray sayeth Reverend Ray

September 23, 2008

If you’ve heard it once, you’ve heard it a million times – if you but prayed to God you’d find out that God was real and wouldn’t be the disgusting atheist that you are. Well, it looks like the game has changed.  Atheists no longer need to pray.  Just ask Ray Comfort who apparently accidentally [...]

The owners of Kieffe & Sons Ford dealership out in Mojave that I recently wrote a post about have issued an apology for the bigoted ad they aired on a local radio station: “For 15 years, Kieffe and Sons Ford has run ad campaigns that focus on current events. We have chosen to do this [...]
