Why God is either insane or non-existant
The young men above are carrying the remains of an unidentified Iraqi who was one of the 198 people murdered by a series of car bombs that took place in pre-dominantly Shiite areas of Iraq Wednesday.
I am just a human and not a particularly nice one at times. I have no superpowers. I make no great claims to intelligence. I do not know what’s going to happen next week, much less what’s going to happen a hundred years from now.
However.
If I was the most powerful being to ever exist - more than a few people would find themselves sitting on an iceberg in Bermuda shorts about now, at the least. Ahh, who am I kidding? More than a few people would be dropping dead in their tracks with absolutely no explanation as to what happened to them. Maybe I’d make an announcement, maybe I wouldn’t, but one thing’s for sure.
The killing would stop. All the killing. No more murdered daughters. No more murdered sons. No more murdered fathers. No more murdered mothers. No. Fucking. More. Murdered. People.
Yet, this thing called ‘God’ has done nothing. In fact, it seems to be the primary cause of all this killing. Believers say “it’s a test” and “God has it’s reasons”. A frigging test?!? For what? Too see how many idiots it can get to simultaneously declare the latest round of god-inspired murder a frigging test? Did it look at it’s pal the Devil and say “bet you I can get ‘em to praise me for doing nothing to stop Billy Joe from killing a bunch of ‘em because of the ‘voices’ in his head”. Is that it’s reason?
It damn sure looks like it and that puts it squarely in the ‘batshit crazy’ category. Or maybe - just maybe
God does not exist.

Please may I give you some encouragement from over the other side of the big Atlantic Ocean? I’m in Scotland, which used to think itself a right god-fearing culture. But now that “god” thing is just about gone from here, christianity is just a tiny cult on the one hand, and a contemptibly empty ritual for the ruling class on the other. I’m nearly fifty, and I can remember when it was different, when there was a general respect for the god idea, and when bible-bollocks (is “bollocks” a word in the US? it’s “balls” ie satirical-testicles)… Er.. yes well, when bible-satirical-testicles was supposed to make some kind of “higher” sense. But: It’s really and truly all over now. It’s not that there’s no priests or ministers or whatever still being paid to do their thing in some communities. It’s just that most of the few that are left don’t even pretend to believe in god unless they’re in the cult, and most of ‘em ain’t. Soon the money will run out for even them. Of course cult-christianity will continue, because it’s a really great cult, except for the crap sex activities, you’re only allowed to have sex with the leader apparently! Boring buggers,eh?
Anyhow, the reason you might take encouragement from this, is that this pan-european phenomenon proves that stupid ideas are very fragile. To break a stupid idea, expose it to a less stupid idea. It might take a while, but eventually even America will stop gazing into a dream of zombie-boy bigdad and the enormous invisible telepathic alien.

If you (me, anyone) were the omnipotent creator, you wouldn’t have to do anything to the criminals of this world. You would have made humans without the ability to have a negative emotion or thought. No crime, no jealousy, etc. For something (someone?) that can create EVERYTHING in a matter of a week, this would be simple to do, it would seem. It could even trash us all (see: Noah) and start over again. Actually, the whole human experiment (it’s gotta be an experiment because It’s been testing us since EDEN) is a disaster and has been from the beginning. Unless, of course, It’s laughing It’s ass off observing these imperfect human playthings f-up everything!
If I were God, I certainly wouldn’t let happen, happen. The child abuse, starvation, murder, the misery of the human condition. How I WANT to believe that Jesus Christ exists and that he loves me., and is reserving a space for me in his kingdom. But his silence in and of itself is answer for me. No god (unless he were sadistic) would continue to allow the atrocities that occur, to go on. Maybe I will rot in a hell. I simply cannot believe what my mind and heart won’t allow. I mean no disrepect to god if he is their. Just the wisdom to understand. And if god doesn’t exist, then let me live an honorable and peaceful life, and be as good to as many people as possible.

I really get tired of people saying it’s gods will. What the hell is wrong with people. So many people die BECAUSE of religion! Why would any god want people to destroy other human beings? It’s nut’s!
