In light of nearly 2/3rds of New Yorkers claiming Park 51 is “insensitive” and should be moved, I’d like to share this video by the Amazing Atheist:

The fact of the matter is it’s only insensitive if you think every Muslim on the planet is guilty of the murders (which included Muslims) which took place on 9/11. It’s like stating no church can go up near a school because Christians have murdered children.

It’s fucking wrong and shouldn’t be tolerated, even if *you* don’t like religion.

Evolution has been caught in the act. Scientists have discovered a group of yellow bellied three toed skinks in colder areas of Australia have more or less abandoned egg laying and are now giving live birth.towards live birth.

Their counterparts in warmer areas of Australia continue to use eggs as a means of reproduction.

From the National Geographic:

Along the warm coastal lowlands of New South Wales, the yellow-bellied three-toed skink lays eggs to reproduce. But individuals of the same species living in the state’s higher, colder mountains are almost all giving birth to live young.

Only two other modern reptiles—another skink species and a European lizard—use both types of reproduction.

Republicans: Obama ♥s Muslims

No matter what he does, the guy just can’t win:

… a new poll finds that Republicans are now taking that rumor one step further. A Newsweek survey released Monday found that a majority of Republicans believe that Obama “sympathizes with the goals of Islamic fundamentalists who want to impose Islamic law around the world.”

According to the poll, 14 percent of Republicans said that from what they knew of Obama, they thought such allegations were “definitely true”; 38 percent thought the allegations were “probably true.”

Meanwhile, 33 percent of Republicans thought they were “probably not true” and 7 percent thought they were “definitely not true.” Asked whether Obama favors the interests of Muslim Americans over other groups of Americans, 59 percent Republicans said yes, whereas 34 percent said he has “generally been evenhanded.”

I’m pretty sure the alleged favouritism has something to do with supporting the first amendment rights of Muslims. How about you?
