She calls me Max

by Karen on October 13, 2008

And it’s a very good thing that I’m cute, because with all the foot biting, arm gnawing, leg chewing and plant digging I do when I’m not trying to take on the neighbour’s Pomeranian, it’s a wonder a particular resident of the house I’ve adopted hasn’t evicted my little orange butt.

Did I mention I had orange eyes too?  Yep, I that damned cute.  Lucky me, eh?

Now if you’ll excuse me, there’s a woman walking down the road out front.  Time to see if she’s afraid of a prancing orange puffball.

The Atheist Prayer

by Karen on May 2, 2007

Atheist Prayer Photo

I found this photo of the “atheist prayer” while surfing earlier today. I so want this T-shirt. The text is:

Our brains, which art in our heads, treasured be thy names. Thy reasoning come. The best you can do be done on earth as it is. Give us this day new insight to resolve conflicts and ease pain. And lead us not into supernatural explanations, deliver us from denial of logic. For thine is the kingdom of reason, and even though thy powers are limited, and you’re not always glorious, you are the best evolutionary adaptation we have for helping this earth now and forever and ever.So be it.

What can a 4 year old prove with a camera?

by Karen on March 5, 2007

That even a cat that’s been known to trip people in order to get attention has her limits:

Not a happy cat photo

This is a cat who will scream bloody murder if she thinks she’s all alone in the house even though she’s just a room away. She insists on sleeping on or near one of us or the other cat. If she can’t sit on your lap, she’ll sit under your feet. She’s so bad that to get her to eat, we’ve sometimes had to “escort” her to the kitchen and watch for a minute or so.
