Personal: The ID “KC” is from my lifelong nickname Casey.  My given name is Karen. I’m originally from Virginia, but grew up in the American south and, as stated above, currently live in Houston, Texas with my family and our, as of today (Oct 21,2008), four cats. Our newest adoptee, Max, can be seen here.

I converted to Christianity as a young child, but was done with it just a few years later.  I outed myself as an atheist not long after my mother’s death when I was a teenager.  And no, I didn’t become an atheist because my mother died.  I was just finally put on the spot and answered truthfully when asked if I even believed in God.

What else is there to say?  I’m an avid reader, utterly love dumb horror movies, but hate fiction only slightly less than I hate fantasy and would be lost without my computer. If you must know what I look like, here’s the most recent photo of me except with more hair.  Excuse the size, but I lost the larger version and don’t like photos of myself.

About the blog:

The term “bligbi” is a nonsense word that captured my eye a few years ago. To my knowledge, it has no formal meaning and no formal pronunciation. I’ve chosen to pronounce it as “blig-bee”.

As an atheist who writes about religion I shouldn’t have to point out that this blog is pro-atheism, but it takes all kinds so considered it pointed out.  I’m also a feminist and one of those extreme lefties that supports the human and civil rights of all people so consider it pointed out that sexism and other bigotries will be dealt with as harshly as I see fit.
