Adventures in medical care

ambulance Just wanted to pop in for a moment to say I probably won’t be posting much for the rest of the week.

The reason being our daughter was hospitalized over the weekend after having a seizure.  She’s alright now (already back at school) but I’m still exhausted and would probably sleep this week away if I could, but there’s follow-ups to do and medicine to “instill”.

  1. I can sympathize! My daugher had a nocturnal seizure when she was 18. It was just the one time and they declared it a “fluke” after numerous tests. I hope the same is true for you dauther! Take care!

  2. Thanks for the kind words. I’m of the mind that the seizure was due to a really bad ear infection they saw on the CT scan they did, but the doctors want to touch all the bases (epilepsy runs in my family).

As of now, she’s got a tube in her right ear to drain what’s in there and hopefully keep it from getting like that again as she’s never been one to tell us when something hurts until it’s unbearable.

She’s been doing fine since about a couple of hours after the seizure ended and was back at school Monday morning.

  3. That’s good to hear. My boy had tubes too. The doctor said the eardrum looked fit to bust, but the boy never complained of any pain or discomfort. Amazing how tough the little buggers can be ;-)
