Church excommunicates child rape victim’s mother

by Karen on March 6, 2009

The Catholic church is still shining it’s ass about the nine year old rape victim’s abortion which a lawyer for the church recently referred to as murder. They’ve now stated that they’ve excommunicated the girl’s mother and others over it:

A Brazilian archbishop says all those who helped a child rape victim secure an abortion are to be excommunicated from the Catholic Church. The girl, aged nine, who lives in the north-eastern state of Pernambuco, became pregnant with twins.

It is alleged that she had been sexually assaulted over a number of years by her stepfather. The excommunication applies to the child’s mother and the doctors involved in the procedure.

And some people wonder why it’s so easy to hate the Catholic church. This is why. It is fucked in the head when it comes to issues related to sex and will always fall on the side of insanity on this issue.

Yeah, it really makes me ashamed to think that I used to be catholic, but luckily not everyone in Brazil is taking this laying down; http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7929712.stm . I just hope that the Pope does the right thing and make the stupid idiot apologize!

All the better for the mother! Maybe this will let her start seeing things the way they are.

I read somewhere that the student enrollment for Catholic schools for priests are thinning. This , hopefully, will inspire more to choose another vocation. The Catholic Church equates itself with mercy, which it is devoid of, given the protection it provided for sexual predators and it prides itself on it’s empty logic and idiocy.

I, like Silver Fox, am an ex-catholic. They took me when I was a baby, when I knew nothing about the universe or the world around me…but when I grew old enough to understand, it was easy to leave. I’m proud that I’m not a catholic. I’m proud to be an Atheist!
