Christianity is Totalitarian

by Karen on February 21, 2009

Here’s a video of Christopher Hitchin’s talking about how religion removes personal responsibility and how Christianity is a totalitarian religion that gives no one any say in the matter:

This video is one of the reasons I haven’t read his book, God is not Great.  I really don’t need anyone to tell me that. The Bible and it’s adherents have long made that obvious to anyone with more than one brain cell in their heads.

This video is also one of the reasons I would never convert to Christianity even if it were proven to be true. Unlike it’s mom, Judaism, it promises to not just punish people, but to torture them after deathfor eternity.

No one of good conscious should be members of such a sick and twisted death cult which Hitchens rightfully calls totalitarian in nature.

Christopher Hitchens. Fuck Yeah! I love this man. I will forgive any number of his drunken shambled debates for the times when he is sharp and on target. Because when he is, he’s like an Exorcet. Focused, lean, devastating.

Right. He’s just right.

as much as I really don’t care for Hitchens, I do think his book is great and worth the read.
