Obama chooses Warren to represent him

I take one measly nap and look what happens. Obama has chosen Rick Warren to give the invocation at his inauguration.

President-elect Barack Obama’s inauguration ceremony will feature musical performances by Aretha Franklin, Yo-Yo Ma and Itzhak Perlman, according to the congressional committee orchestrating the inaugural program.

Rick Warren, the evangelical pastor of Saddleback Church, will give the invocation and the Rev. Joseph Lowery, a civil rights leader who co-founded the Southern Christian Leadership Conference with Martin Luther King Jr., will give the closing benediction.

Franklin, “The Queen of Soul,” will perform before Vice President-elect Joe Biden’s oath, and Obama’s oath will be preceded by a piece composed by John Williams for pianist Gabriela Montero, clarinetist Anthony McGill, violinist Itzhak Perlman and cellist Yo-Yo Ma, who has a spot on Obama’s iPod.

One fucking nap and he does this.  I’d honestly throw a shoe or two at him about now. Rick Warren is not one of the fluffy bunny Christians who has issues with all the hate and bigotry in the bible.  He embraces that hate and bigotry.

He’s Dobson with a softer voice. He’s anti-woman, he’s anti-gay and yes, he’s anti-atheist. The man’s probably never met a minority group he doesn’t think deserves to be dominated by white straight protestant men like himself.

Of all the people Obama could’ve asked to do the invocation he chooses this man? There’s selling out and then there’s shaking hands with the devil. Obama has clearly went with the devil on this one.
