The post was written not long after the passage of Prop 8 and before the protests really began in earnest. I’m well aware that much ado has been made about the Mormon support of this bigoted law since I wrote the above.

Hey guys I’m not gay and I don’t live in California but don’t buy that the Mormons have a right to try to influence social policy in such an overt way. If someone was to compile a list of Mormon owned businesses nationwide I’d use it prevent them from getting any of my money.

I’m sure I’m not alone. It’s not just a gay issue.

Agreed. Boycott is a nice first step. However, our forefathers hated their cult so bad they ran them out of New York, Ohio and Missouri before they landed in the desert where no one was. They festered there like an open wound until recently. Now, they’re baptizing dead Jews and stripping Americans of their Constitutional rights. They are a racist, homophobic cult and their doors should be shut forever.

I agree the boycott is very important. The organizers of 8 were asking their supporters to boycott the No contributers. They were posting and distributing e-mails with lists of contributers to boycott. Now it is time to do to them what they wanted done to us. I did not tip a Mormon waiter because 10% of the money would go to the church. I changed Pool service and other businesses I used already. Please this is only fair.
