Cussing is the new thing in bigotry apparently
The Christian Defense Coalition is picketing ESPN. Why are they picketing ESPN? Because saying Jesus Christ in a less than loving manner and Goddamn is the equivalent of calling a black person a n*gger and a homosexual a f*ggot.
It is the goal of the Christian Defense Coalition to help ESPN realize the negative use of “Jesus Christ” and “Goddamn” in the workplace is as offense and hateful as using the term “nigger” in the workplace.
Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, comments, “We must work for an America in which there is zero acceptance of religious intolerance in the workplace for all faith traditions. Hateful and intolerant expressions like ‘Goddamn’ or the negative use of ‘Jesus Christ’ should be viewed with scorn and outrage.
“Corporate America must begin to understand that terms like ‘Goddamn’ and the negative use of ‘Jesus Christ’ in the workplace are no different than using expressions like ‘faggot’ or ‘nigger’ in the workplace.
Yes, because generic cussing, which is at most rude, is the exact same thing as calling another person a derogatory word meant to actually harm the person if not physically - then mentally.
It’s almost funny until you realize these people are trying to capitalize off of real bigotry caused in large part because of the things these same people believe and promote.
It gets worse. These people are demanding that ESPN put a policy in effect that would result in the termination of employees caught not conforming to the religious beliefs of conservative Christians.
And they say the Taliban is in Afghanistan, eh?
