If it's any comfort I for one have not altered my opinion of Hillary Clinton one iota as a result of anything which has occurred in the past week. I still think she's a closet right-winger who was among the first in her party to abandon sanity in the wake of 9/11, who has spent the majority of the last 6 years pitching almost everything that was good about America over the side with both hands, and who would sell you and all her other supporters out in a heartbeat in her struggle to achieve power. She's also the only Democratic candidate who would truly rally the Republican voters to vote Republican, because they still haven't gotten over their irrational hatred of her husband, as well as being the only candidate about whom I regularly hear Democrats say they would rather stay home from the polls than vote for her. (I live, by the way, in Chicago.) She's a lousy choice on all fronts, and if she had any integrity she would admit that her spinelessness in the face of adversity makes her unfitted to the office, but none of that has anything to do with her recent behavior, whether this incident was manufactured or not. Why can't they run Barbara Lee for president? Now there's a woman worth voting for.
