When I woke up this morning I happily found out that Senator Clinton won New Hampshire. The reason is pretty simple, the sexism being shown by the media, the other candidates and the general population is just mind-blowing.
If you think not, consider the recent media dustup about Clinton during a recent Q&A session. The media would have us believe that Clinton became very “emotional”, had to “fight back tears” and that she literally “choked up”. Too bad someone went and invented video recorders:
Did you catch it? I know it may have been hard to what with the specter of a woman speaking in public right there waiting to blow your mind, but the fact is Clinton did not cry. Did. Not. Happen. She didn’t even quit speaking which is usually a requisite of “choking up”. All this is on top of the other displays of sexism:
From Chris Matthews show on Fox News:

She even inspired one person to come up with this gift for the anxious male in your life:

These are in addition to the photos being used all over the place to imply that she’s insane such as this one:

And the following one to show how she can’t handle the stress of merely running for president:

She’s also had to deal with men in one audience taunting her with calls of “Iron my Shirt” and a gazillion articles about how she’s an emotionless autobot who doesn’t have the heart to be president. There also the articles that compare her voice to “screeching” and how she sends chills up the back of married straight men when she speaks.
And who can forget all the times she’s been accused of scaring the tar out of her husband or how she’s the one “who wears the pants” in her marriage? It’s popped up in this campaign with The New York Times running a picture of Bill Clinton appearing to be sitting underneath Hillary’s heeled feet.
As a woman and one that isn’t known for being one of the “good girls” (aka: any female that gets an a smiley face in “Acts like a Girl, Not a Boy”), I’ve found and continue to find this appalling. The fact that both Senator Obama and John Edwards have joined the pile-on and it is a pile-on just makes it worse.
The icing on the cake, however, is that any remarks about the sexism Clinton’s campaign is bringing out in the open is “playing the gender card”. As if it were ever taken off the table to begin with. Hillary Clinton has been smacked with the Gender Card for over a decade now.
So why did Hillary win? I think it’s because we women, despite being female, realize that what she’s going through could easily be one of us. We do see ourselves in Hillary Clinton even if we disagree with her.
In short, women have gotten angry about this shit that’s being done to her and we will vote for her simply to send the whiny boys club the message that we will not tolerate their intolerable shit anymore.
