Hope the beltway Democrats are happy
Senator Lieberman has given his endorsement to John McCain. Lieberman, if you’ll remember, had his feet put to the fire back in 2006 over his tendency to behave as though he was a Republican warhawk. After getting his ass whipped in the primaries by Ned Lamont, Lieberman ran as a independent.
This is what he had to say about Lamont’s challenge and the impact a win by Lamont would have in 2008:
Now McCain is a certified member of the GOP clown car so it pretty much goes without saying that there isn’t much he won’t claim, but I’m willing to bet that “I’m a Democrat” is on the “ah, hell no!” list.
