A man has went on a rampage at Virginia Tech, killing 33 and injuring 30 before taking his own life. Early reports from students said the shooter was looking for his girlfriend , once again bringing to the forefront the misogyny that is so common in these kinds of incidents.
Update: Authorities seem to be operating under the idea that the murderer was the same man who killed two others in the earlier incident they’re calling a “domestic dispute”.
Virginia Tech President Charles Steger said authorities believed that the shooting at the dorm was a domestic dispute and mistakenly thought the gunman had fled the campus.
I’m kind of galled by the use of “domestic dispute”.  A domestic dispute is an argument. It is not murdering people!  If we’re going to tag it with a special label - let’s use “male terrorism” instead. At least that one makes sense even if it pisses the boys off.
