Married women can’t be raped
Phyllis Schlafly, a longtime enemy of the ERA, gave a speech last night at Bates College titled “Conservatism vs. Feminism: The Great Debate”.  In addition to stating that feminism is “incompatible” with marriage and motherhood, she also stated that married women cannot be sexually assaulted.
Why? Because by getting married the woman gives up her rights to her own body. She becomes the property of her husband and he is entitled to sex regardless of her wishes.  I guess when you think that little of women, feminism is incompatible with marriage.
This event was sponsored by the Republican student group.  I wonder what their mothers would think about them sponsoring a person who thinks their fathers have a right to force them to have sex against their will simply because they said “I do”.

That’s just disgusting. Ignorance seems to sink to new levels every day, sadly.
