How to drive Christians stark raving mad
It’s pretty simple to do. After 34 years of public service announce you’re a non theist and then just sit back and enjoy:
Mike Mears of Concerned Women for America:
“It is unfortunate in a society that is going down the path of godlessness and making right wrong and wrong right, that we continue down this path by celebrating one member of Congress who denies that God exists altogether,” Concerned Women for America Director of Legislative Relations Mike Mears told Cybercast News Service.
“The founding fathers … founded this country on godly principles,” Mears said. “Fifty-one of the 56 signers [of the Declaration of Independence] had a Christian worldview and [Stark] wants to change that and celebrate - basically - godlessness.”
Rev Louis Sheldon of the Traditional Values Coalition:
In a display of open hostility to God, California Representative Peter Stark stood up on the Floor of the House on March 13 and declared his unbelief in God. “This is the first time in history that a sitting member of Congress has openly expressed his lack of faith in God,†said TVC Chairman Rev. Louis P. Sheldon. According to Stark, “When the Secular Coalition asked me to complete a survey on my religious beliefs, I indicated I am a Unitarian who does not believe in a supreme being.â€Â
James Lafferty of the Christian Seniors Association:
“It is sad but not surprising that the current Congress has produced this historic first – one of its members has denied God,†said CSA Executive Director James Lafferty. “The liberals in Congress want to throttle any school child who bows his or her head in prayer, but they want to establish a right for liberals to bash Christians and berate God around the clock.
And remember, folks, Representative Stark’s “crime” is publicly acknowledging that he’s not a theist. Nothing more, nothing less. And for that he’s had his views misrepresented, has been lied about and has been accused of being part of a conspiracy to set up a situation where Christians can be physically attacked by we legions of godless monsters without repercussion.

Why are they not blaming him?
Why has he failed to make abortion and gays illegal yet?
Is he failing his base and his opposition?
What is sad is no attention is being payed to this negative reaction. It is still basically ok in this society to say vile things about atheists and no one cares.

I can see it now. The high priority effort to drive Stark for office under the banner of “Save our Children” or some such nonsense.
