New Hampshire repeals parental ‘right’ law

by Karen on March 7, 2007

The New Hampshire House has repealed a parental ‘right’ law requiring parental notification before a minor daughter could obtain an abortion.

The House voted 226-130 to repeal the 2003 law, which has been appealed as far as the U.S. Supreme Court. The courts ruled the law is flawed because it was unclear how the Legislature intended to protect the health of a girl in an emergency.

In case you’ve forgotten, this is the law that made national headlines as it made parental notification mandatory regardless of the health and welfare of the young woman. This was a law that could never be amendment into compliance with the constitution.   Hopefully, the new one will consider the rights of the young women a bigger priority than the privileges of their parents.

Yah what rights are violated when a 12 year old is dead and her parents had no idea she was having this surgery?

Give up your rights to the states and you will have communism.
