Larry Darby to run for Congress

Larry Darby, a former atheist who denies the Holocaust happened and once made a statement to the effect that Mexicans in Alabama should be shot, is back in the news. According to this article, he plans to run for Congress as a Democrat in 2008 because ‘”The Democratic Party needs to be cleaned out and reformatted, and Larry Darby is the person to do it.”

The funny thing is the article is titled “Disavowed atheist to run for Congress”. This is incorrect IMHO. Darby was disavowed by many atheists when started his spiral into white supremacism, but according to Darby, he is not an atheist:

“I agree with moral precepts put forth by Jesus of Nazareth and I am Christian in a sense that Jesus of Nazareth would approve,” Darby wrote. [emphasis added]
