The House voted to stop federal judges who would side with the US Constitution and declare the phrase “under God” a violation of the first amendment. The legislation effectively undercuts judicial independence and denies religious minorities access to federal courts to defend our rights.
Michael Newdow stated “They’re willing to ruin this country so they can keep their god in our country.”
He scored a bullseye in my opinion. Our politicians seem utterly determined to undermine our constitution in order to serve their religious beliefs. The anti-equality amendment, the anti-freedom of speech amendment and now this.
And we’re supposed to be afraid of some right-ring “terrorist” Muslims?? I think not. Our enemies are quite quickly becoming the very people we have elected.
