The Who’s Who of the Religious Right
Head over to Alternet for a list of the top ten members of the religious right by Rob Boston of Americans United for Seperation of Church and State. With a combined income of over 400 million a year – these are the men and women that are waging a full scale war on all Americans, religious or not:
- Christian Broadcastin Network – $186,482,060
- Focus on the Family – $137,848,520
- Coral Ridge Ministries – $39,253,882
- Alliance Defense Fund – $17,921,146
- American Family Association – $17,595,352
- American Center for Law & Justice – $14,485,514

- Jerry Falwell Ministries – $8,950,480
- Concerned Women for America – $8,484,108

The article itself is a must-read as it gives a good description of each organization such as who founded it, how it’s funded and how they use those funds to further their goal of (IMO) establishing a Christian theocracy here in the United States.

Wow, this blog it really tough to add comments too!
Karen, why do you think all of this money is being spent on this silly religious ideals? After all, we all know their is no god, right?
Also, why do we even care what these ignorant relious drones think or do anyway?
KC, Are you still their? Things have gone quiet on this blog for a few days. Is that because of the new must register rules?
Anyway, I took a closer look at the religious rght entry and found it very interesting. I’m still amazed at how much muney these people throw at this stuff while things like stem cell research is underfunded.
Vivamus,
I’m still here, just dealing with some computer problems. Sorry about the hoops, but everyone has to register & comments are moderated because of the electronic temper tantrums of a few folks.
As to your question about the listed groups, each one wants to essentially overthrow our government and replace it with a Christian theocracy and the last time we had that, we got the Crusades, the Inquisition and the near total shutdown of science and social progress. Reinstating it is a bad idea all around.
And no, we don’t “know” there are no gods though it’s completely rational to conclude such creatures do not exist in light of the total lack of evidence.
