According to an email by Planned Parenthood a 17 year old Indiana girl, her boyfriend and her mother entered a CPC thinking it was Planned Parenthood due to some signs that had been posted. After getting her personal information, the young woman was told she had to return for another appointment, but it would be across the way at their ‘other’ office. The other office was the real Planned Parenthood.
When she returned for her appointment, she was met by the police who had been informed that a minor was being forced into an abortion. The center didn’t stop there. It went on to contact her at home and even called her father at his place of employment about it. People even showed up at her school where they encouraged her classmates into shaming her into forgoing an abortion.
And to top matters off, there’s a growing movement to fund these centers with public money. Here in Texas 25 million dollars which had been earmarked for real family planning services has been slashed. In order to qualify for it an organization must offer reproductive health services in addition to a variety of other services or offer no such services beyond OTC pregnancy tests:
Specifically, under a rider authored by State Sen. Robert Deuell, R-Greenville, DSHS must use up to $20 million of family planning funding over the next two years to fund Federally Qualified Health Centers – community clinics required to provide a host of primary care services to indigent clients – before awarding the money to other providers. More egregious is a second rider, authored by State Sen. Tommy Williams, R-The Woodlands, that sets aside another $5 million in family-planning funds over the biennium for grants to so-called Crisis Pregnancy Centers – unregulated and unlicensed “support” centers that, by and large, offer no medical services, save for over-the-counter variety pregnancy tests – in order to implement a “statewide program for women seeking alternatives to abortion focused on pregnancy support services that promote childbirth.”
That’s right. Thanks to Willyboy these centers are going to get five million dollars they won’t have to account for. Who cares if 17,000 Texas women are being booted to the streets? Sticks to piss on are expensive and it ain’t like these frauds, liars and hypocrites can just magically pull their fliers out of the same orafice they pull their so-called “information”. It takes money to put that crap on paper.
